Quick Fuel Technology (QFT), makers of high performance and racing carburetors has just introduced a line of carburetors specifically engineered for the marine market. M-Series marine carburetors are available in six different models from 650-1050cfm to fit most popular marine applications.
The M-Series was developed from scratch with billet-style throttle bodies and metering blocks for exceptional strength and precise fuel delivery. Interchangeable air bleeds and restrictions allow for fine-tuning, while Teflon™-coated throttle shafts with Teflon™ bearings ensure smooth throttle response. Due to marine engine’s harsh environment, QFT applies a protective coating to the main carb body and fuel bowls to prevent corrosion.
M-Series carburetors are available in both 4150 and 4500-style flange configurations. All models use mechanically-operated secondaries with Quicklink™ - QFT’s adjustable secondary linkage for fast and easy changes in throttle opening rates. Additional features common to all M-Series carbs are fuel bowls with integral sight glass windows for easy float adjustment, and marine “J-style” vent tubes to prevent fuel spillage and direct fumes back into the carburetor for safer operation. M-Series 650-850cfm models have fully adjustable electric chokes.
QFT offers a couple of special M-Series carbs such as an 850cfm model calibrated for roots-style 2x4 supercharged engines and a huge 1050cfm 2-circuit QFX model for large displacement engines found in off-shore race and poker run boats. Like all QFT carburetors, each one is hand assembled and run-tested on a real engine.

E85 Series - Carburetors designed specifically for E85 fuels

The Q-series uses an all new QFT die cast aluminium main body, featuring recessed air bleed cavities, polished main body, and improved air flow. Venturi are die cast to exacting tolerances to provide a "Real World" venturi/throttle bore combination, for throttle response and maximum wide-open airflow. Screw-in air bleeds enable fine tuning of both the idle and high-speed systems. Q series carburetors weigh 4.5lbs less than the leading competition carburetor.
CNC-Machined with 4-stage emulsion provides more precise fuel metering, improved throttle response and a more uniform fuel performance curve. Billet metering blocks feature changeable idle feed and power valve channel restrictions.
QFT throttle bodies are CNC-machined to exacting tolerances and provide exceptional strength. Slabbed Teflon coated throttle shafts are assembled with Teflon ribbon bearings, low-profile button head throttle plate screws, which result in maximum airflow with minimal throttle effort.
All mechanical secondary carburetors have an adjustable secondary idle speed bracket. This allows for fine tuning of the secondary throttle position to produce improved idle quality.
All mechanical secondary carburetors feature a "Quick Link" system that alters the secondary opening rate by simply changing the secondary link. 40%, 60% or 1:1 opening rates are available. QFT's vacuum secondary carburetors feature QFT's adjustable "Quick Set" diaphragm housing.
QFT's aluminium fuel bowl is unique, combining strength with significant weight reduction. QFT's aluminium fuel bowls feature dual threaded fuel inlets and dual sight glass for convenient float level setting. Dedicated floats for specific applications ensure optimum carburetor performance characteristics without additional upgrade components.
Unlike some other brands, QFT billet colours have specific meanings.
Red -> Petrol
Blue -> Alcohol
Green -> E85
Black -> RQ Race w/5 Emulsion Metering blocks
Custom colours for different fuels are available as special order items.
